Decibel readings are estimates derived from consumer-grade microphones (laptop, phone, headset). They are not calibrated to IEC 61672, ANSI S1.4, or any other standard for Class 1 or Class 2 sound level meters. Do not use SOUNDTEST.PRO readings as the basis for regulatory compliance, court proceedings, professional acoustic reports, or any situation where measurement accuracy of ±0.5 dB is required.
SOUNDTEST.PRO helps you capture timestamped audio, location, and notes. It does not provide legal advice, and the existence of a recording does not by itself make that recording admissible in your jurisdiction. Always consult a licensed attorney in your jurisdiction before relying on noise documentation for tenancy disputes, criminal complaints, civil suits, or insurance claims.
By default, audio is processed entirely on your device. Nothing is uploaded to our servers. However, when you choose to export, share, or sync files, you are responsible for the privacy and legality of those transfers in your jurisdiction. Recording laws vary by country, state, and city — including one-party vs. two-party consent — and you are solely responsible for complying with them.
