Accuracy boundary
SOUNDTEST.PRO is a documentation aid, not a certified meter.
The web app estimates sound levels through the browser microphone and Web Audio API. Device microphones, system gain, browser processing, and calibration settings affect readings.
What it supports
A/C/Z weighting estimates, Fast/Slow response, LAeq, L5/L10/L50/L90/L95, 1/3 octave display, calibration context, and report exports.
What it cannot claim
No IEC 61672 Class 1/Class 2 certification, no judicial timestamp authority, and no guaranteed 24-72 hour lock-screen browser monitoring.
Why phones differ
iOS devices tend to be more consistent than Android, while Android and desktop browser input chains vary widely across hardware and software.
Use it well
- Record repeated sessions under similar conditions.
- Keep distance, room, windows, and equipment state in notes.
- Use calibration only with a reference sound level meter or acoustic calibrator.
- Keep exported media and reports together for context.
Formal measurements should be verified with a certified sound level meter and qualified procedures. Local hashes prove export consistency only; they are not authoritative timestamps.
